In 2016, the University Art Gallery received a donation of 88 vintage World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) propaganda posters as well as unique European advertising posters produced between the years 1905 to 1959. This collection provides insight into the socio-political perspectives of WWI and WWII, as the majority of these posters were designed in Western Europe and the United States. The unforgettable pieces of history and vintage European culture are encapsulated in color lithograph form in this poster collection. A number of the artists represented in this collection are world-famous and were hired to create these posters because they were prestigious in their fields. These persons include renowned advertisers, cartoonists, visual artists, and illustrators. The collection was donated by Don M. Gonzales (and his estate) after his passing.
